SOUTHVIEW
COMMUNITY CHURCH

If you are considering joining us for a Sunday gathering, this video is to give you some insight on what happens at our gatherings, why we meet and what you can expect.
We look forward to having you join us on a Sunday soon!
WHAT HAPPENS DURING our GATHERINGs?
singing
Singing is a way for us to express what is on our hearts; whether it is joy, thanksgiving, longing or adoration. We sing songs to God and about God as a way of expressing our heart.
Feel free to sing along or just listen during our time of singing.
KIDS FEATURE
Kids join us for the Sunday gathering. We have a special feature halfway through the gathering (a song or story) and then the kids can grab a kids praise pack with activities that match what the adults will be learning about.
We have a nursery available at the back of the auditorium for kids 0-2 years old and their caregivers.
If your kid is crying, running around or making a fuss, don't worry about it. We are glad to have you and your kids with us!

communion
Communion is simply taking a piece of bread and some juice to celebrate what Jesus has done and continues to do.
Everyone is welcome (including the kids) to participate in communion as a way of acknowledging Jesus' desire to be present in and through you.
We celebrate communion weekly.
prayer
We believe that prayer is one way to talk to God and also a way that He talks to us. During the gathering we will talk to God through prayer several times.
On some occasions, we may even ask if those present have anything that is on their heart that they would like to add in prayer. Feel free to participate in sharing or to listen and observe at this time.
Teaching time
During the gathering, someone will share some reflections and thoughts based on the Bible. The teaching is to help us understand God better and help us on our journey of faith.
Often our pastor will use object lessons or stories to help communicate a point and make it more understandable in our current context and culture.
GIVING
As a church we want to be intentional about our involvement in this community and the programming we are able to offer to those here at the church and in our neighborhood. 4
We have giving boxes at the back of the sanctuary where you can make donation (donations placed in the giving envelopes with contact info will be sent tax receipts at the end of the year).
As a guest, please know that there is no obligation to give.
